I just purchased the wilton candlelight stand (with my 40% off coupon...yes!) and it says "holds up to 40 lbs". Would I be ok with a 12", 10", 8", and 6" stacked? They are chocolate w/ raspberry filling, Chocolate frosting and fondant on top of that. What do you think? Any help would be so appreciated.

TIA,

SW

Ok I just weighed each one of the cakes with out any frosting or filling. So far we are at 17 pounds. What do ya think would frosting and fondant be another 20 lbs?

I weighed a 10inch and 6 inch stacked cake that was frosted and had fondant and it came to about 10 lbs. Hopefully that helps you. I think you will be fine.

Thanks a bunch! I think it will be fine too. Especially since I decided not to add the 6". It is just the 12, 10 and 8 inches now. Ok, off to decorate! Thanks!

For the record: I did an 8", 10", and 12" chocolate cake, raspberry filling, chocolate buttercream, and then fondant plus fondant decorations....
The cake was fine on the stand. Just wanted to check in and let everyone know!
thanks a bunch for your help!!

Just for the record, did you weigh the completed tiers? Just curious!

Stunning cake!! I love the gold on the pearls/balls - it contrasts beautifully with the black and white!
