Out of milk when I was making my buttercream frosting, so I substituted whipping cream. Made the buttercream really light and fluffy but still had the flavor of buttercream. This was a sweet surprise to me.

I've made BC with cream before; it makes it really rich. I liked it. I also learned somewhere on here to use coffee creamer instead of milk. I haven't tried any of the flavored ones, but I have mixed the plain dry stuff in equal parts with water and used that. It gives it a nice rich flavor too.

Oh, I have used the French vanilla coffee creamer. It gives it a nice flavor. Hoping to find the Chai flavored one.

Mac,

I always use whipping cream in my buttercream and I think it is so much better. Squirrelly Cakes gave me the recipe. I substitute it in chocolate icing too.

I don't know why I haven't tried it before. I always have whipping cream on hand.

I also like the whipping cream in my buttercream but was wondering if it is ok to leave the cake out if there is whipping cream in the icing.
