So I know I posted about this cake before but I am trying to figure something out. I am making a 3 tier cake for a 50th birthday (8", 10", 12" inch rounds). The top is going to have 2 small cakes in the shape of the number 50. I am incorporating the themes hunting, fishing and family. I have most of the figures done already.
My question is what color do I make the fondant to cover the cake?
There will be a waterfall from top to bottom and the base will be a beach scene with the family. I was thinking of making each tier a shade of gray (darker going down) so that the "50" would be white and each tier would look like going down a mountain. Does that make sense and if so does it sound good?
If not I would appreciate any suggestions!! Thanks again!!
I think making it marble would be awesome! That would give a very realistic stone effect! Can't wait to see pics!

Thanks!! I am so nervous about this cake since it is my first cake I have been hired to do and I am still pretty new at this!! I will definitely post pictures when I am done (no matter how it comes out)
