the consistency of marshmallow creme all of a sudden??? I need it to be like oil paints so I can paint my cookies. Does anyone out there have a good hard quick drying icing for cookies that acts like a paint? Like oil paints or acrylic? Am I just insane??? icon_confused.gif

I'm no expert on RI at all, but I think you could thin it out with water until you get it super thin so you can paint with it. I know I've thinned mine out until it got almost like water before, accidentally of course, but it still dried hard. Good luck!

Just keep adding water, you'll get it to an oil paint consistency.

I added water and all it seemed to do was get frothy. I wonder If I messed up the recipe somehow. Does anyone out there have a favorite RI recipe that works AND tastes good?

If you haven't tried it yet, Antonia74's royal icing is definitely worthy of an A+!

Look under "making icing & decorating cookies". I add a tsp of flavoring as well. HTH! thumbs_up.gif
