I have a baby shower cake to do for Sunday and I need to bake it tonight. What I need to know is if any of you would cut the serving size for a 2 layer tier in half if you only used one layer and torted it?! I need it to serve 70 and I want it to be 3 tiers. I am using an idea from a cake that SugarShack did. Her's was a 2 layer 10", 1 layer 8" and 2 layer 6" that served 50. I am trying to get the same effect by using 2 layer 12", 1 layer 10" and 2 layer 8" but I don't want a ton of leftover. Using Earlene's serving chart it would be 90 servings but that is for all 2 layers. Would making the 10" only one layer cut down on the servings?
Please help!
Thank you,
Heather

yes it would because the cake would be half the thickness, therefore you would get fewer pieces from each layer. make sense? hope that helps!
