Hi,
I think your cake is beautiful. you did really well on this one..I'm sure your future cakes will also be good. I made a cake a few weeks ago w/ the same color background (Moss Green)..It''s a beautiful shade of green.. It's not "pewk" green color that would give you a migraine. How did you make your Cornelli lace get so straight ? Also your Roses are very pretty and well made. thanks for sharing ![]()
I absolutely love this design! Do you mind if I copy it for my mother for mothers day?!
When I was doing the lace I cut a template the size of the cake and marked it where I wanted the columns using my wilton fondant mat that came with the course 3 kit. Then I put it on top of my cake and marked the top and bottom of the cake. For the top of the cake I cut small strips of wax paper and laid them across the top of the cake next to the marks I had made on the top and just stayed within the lines.
The roses were actually made from regular fondant that were left over from another cake ![]()
How did you get the roses to lay out so perfectly? Is there something underneath them to give the middle rose hieght over the ones around the sides? I really would like to make this cake for my mom as her favorite color is this shade of green and she loves green and pink together. Are you alright with my copying your design?
I actually got the idea out of the wilton course 3 book and just changed the colors so feel free to copy
. The roses are on toothpicks so you can set them as deep as you want. I just put the largest one in the center and left it raised pretty high. I arranged the other flowers around it and then pushed the center rose down as far as it would go without breaking it.
Also to get that green color I used juniper with a little bit of kelly green.
Thanks so much! My mom is going to love this cake!
The green is juniper with a little bit of kelly green in it.
