Ok, all of you have been a lot of help to me. I have another question for you. How or what would I use to make butterflies for the top of a cake? The lady wants the whole top covered in butterflies.Any ideas please let me know

you can check wilton decorate with fondant youu can use heart cutters and make fondant butterflys goodluck

You could do a search in the galleries for butterflies. Maybe something would inspire you. There are pictures of butterflies made with fondant, gum paste, edible paper, you name it.

Fondant, gumpaste, chocolate, candy melts, the list goes on and on.

What "type" of butterflies are we talking about? Cute? Realistic? This would probably help determine what you should use.

There is an article "How To Make Realistic Edible Butterflies" in the tutorial articles section. They are very easy to follow and the butterflies come out beautiful. However, since you will need quite a few to cover the top of a cake, you can purchase ready made butterflies at sugarcraft.com.
