Hi... I use Wilton food colour for the fondant colouring. The colour tends to stay on the tongue once eaten. Is this normal?

my family goes out on the boat for the fourth of july to picnic and watch the fireworks. i had made 24 induvidual red, white, and blue cakes with a star on the top. (like mini wedding cakes) the largest bottom layer i had done in red. it turned into quite a joke. "how long do you think we'll all have red, white, and blue smiles. it was a hoot. everytime someone smiled, everybody else busted out in laughter.

Not rude but truthful. I have found that most intense colors will stain. But will come off with time.
