They left me a message and said they would send it on to some person. I forget who they said. From what I have read it is suggested we cut down on the liquid. I may try a recipe sent to me by a lady on Wilton. hpjmom. It may be posted. It has cornstarch and a little flour in it. It made a huge batch too. Here it is. I found it on Wilton. If ou have questions about it her name on Wilton is hpjmom.

I found this recipe for white cake here in the forums & I really liked it. It is using a box mix & it isn't pure white. I have also tried to find a good white cake & have had trouble finding one I like. The one I like you use the recipe as on the box. Use milk instead of water. Then add one whole egg. (If the recipe calls for 3 egg white, add 3 egg white plus 1 whole egg.)

My buttercream makes a lot. I freeze leftovers. It freezes well. I have left mine out of the fridge for up to a week. If I'm not going to use it by then, I freeze it.

Buttercream Icing

1 Cup Water
2 tsp. other flavor (optional-I don't use one)
2 tsp. Clear Vanilla
2 tsp. Clear Butter
3 Cups Crisco Shortening
¼ tsp. Popcorn Salt
2 Tbsp. Meringue Powder
4 Tbsp. Corn Starch
4 Lbs. Powdered Sugar

Pour flavorings in a cup measure, then add water to equal 1 cup. Stir in salt. Cream the shortening. Slowly add the water & cream together with shortening. Add the meringue powder & corn starch. Cream those together. Add half the sugar & incorporate. Add the remaining sugar. Beat until smooth. Keep covered to avoid crusting.

Thanks for posting... I'm desperate to try anything at this point.

By chance... did the lady at the wilton site find the same problem with Criso... The post is pre-crisco change (2005 post).

It is a pretty big batch of icing to make to still have the same problems.

I don't mean to be critical and I do apprecite the post... I'm just worried at this point. I hope you understand.

I do not know. Yes I received that recipe before the new Crisco. I have not heard how she is doing now. I guess you could cut in half and try it. I just thought of suggesting it. I do not know if it will help. Just trying to throw out some ideas.
