When a Nursery in my town went out of business I bought rolls and rolls of florest foil. Then I found out from CC that it isn't safe to use on cake boards. I thought about throwing them out and then I thought well maybe I can use them later.

Well, that was months ago. Does anyone have suggestions what it can be used for?

I bought some from a clothing shop that went out of business, I was gonna recover some stars and stuff to hang from my daughter's ceiling. Do you think if you covered the foil with Saran Wrap that you could use it for cakes?? Or not....I have like 2 rolls of pink....

use a wax sheet or parchment paper under the cake so its not directly on the foil.

I use that stuff all the time, just not on a cake where the cake will actually be sitting on the foil. 99% of my cakes are on their own cardboard before the cake board anyway so its no big deal for me. I keep a roll of Wilton stuff for those other cakes.

Maybe you can use clear contact paper over the foil.

You could also still use it but, put clear contact sheets over it. I know that it is really sticky stuff. Then you can just use it over and over! icon_smile.gif

can you use it then use the clear contact paper over it? I have read on here that some people use the contact paper over things like wrapping paper so I'm sure it would work fine for your foil. I don't know if it would make it look dull or not but it wouldn't hurt to try. If it doesn't work you could always use it to wrap gifts. There's nothing like a pretty shiny present to open!! icon_lol.gif Good luck
