I have a customer that is requesting a cake like the one below...but she does not want the net and she wants to me to make i a white cake. The cake below I made was a boxed yellow cake. I just tried making the basket ball and the cake is falling apart with the white cake mix . Does anyone have a recipe or something that I can use in the white cake mix (boxed). Does yellow cake mix hold up better than white?

Use 1/2 a box of instant vanilla pudding and see if that works. I accidentally put a whole box in once and it made the cake really dense, but the white cake mix extender on here is really good.

I don't use white cake mix of any kind for that exact reason. They all fall apart. I use DH French vanilla. I don't offer yellow either because I think it tastes and smells nasty. JMO

Hi,
One box cake, one box instant pudding(powdered) 4 eggs or egg whites in this case, 1/2 cup oil, 1/2 cup water and 8oz sour cream. Make a nice cake, good for shapes. icon_smile.gif

I say go with the cake mix extender recipe on this site. Makes a white cake mix taste soo much better and it is a really nice texture, holds up well! Good luck.
