I bough tsome CFL bulbs yesterday and they don't work in some of my lamps. Yes, they were turned on. Does any one know why? Both Lamps were torchere style, weird?

I had this problem too. In fact, I tried one in my favorite lamp and it works initially, but after a few times, it started to make this loud buzzing noise and then it crackled and stopped working. It was a little scary. I just assumed that some lamps don''t work properly with those type of light bulbs. Maybe somebody else around here knows more about this?
