Yes you can dye it without a problem. Just add some of your icing color to it and knead, knead, knead. BUT if you are planning on eating the fondant I would never use Wilton! It does taste really BAD! That is not just my opinion ask anyone and they will tell you the same. If by chance you have a cake supply store near you then you can probably pick up some Satin Ice. It has a nice flavor and acts somewhat of a sponge and will take on the flavor of your buttercream. Or if you want to try making the MMF just follow the tutorial and you will probably be fine. I have made it many times the only thing I have found which is different than most is my "behaves" better if I use it the same day and don't let it rest too long.

OMG yes!!! Please do your best NOT to use the Wilton Fondant!! It tastes HORRIBLE!!!! Try to make your own...it's really pretty simple, or get another brand if you have the time/money!! I'm afraid you will regret it if you don't!! I use Satin Ice too!! It's yummy! And you can buy it in colors!!

When I first tried using fondant, I used Wilton's. Yes! It tastes terrible. I put extra buttercream under the fondant and told my siblings to peel off the fondant! Since it is pre-made it was easier since I'd never used fondant. But now I use MMF (we don't have cake supply stores here). I, like Melissa, like to use it right away.

I agree, DON'T EAT WILTON'S! I don't have immediate access to any other brand so I make the MMF and haven't had any problems.

I like to make roses from candy clay but in the summer they wilt so I mix it 1/2 fondant and 1/2 candy clay and wow even the Wilton tastes good

Thanks everyone.......I printed out the MMF recipie and am going to give it a try. Crossing my fingers that the first time I make and use fondant it turns out ok, I'll try and get a pic up after i'm done. Thanks again!
