I'm trying to register a domain name, but they are asking tons of stuff that I know nothing about. What all should I be "buying" from them? I have no clue about this stuff, so I need some serious help here!

TIA!

I would try buying a domain name from one of the companies that gives free web hosting and free email forwarding. also check that they have a free website designer for you to set up your website. This way if you want to do a website it costs you nothing. if you want to know the amounts of other things. This is what mine covers.....
traffic 1 gb maximum, disk storage quota 200 mb.
Hope this helps!

I bought my domain name at godaddy.com and have it pointing to my worldnet account website.

They have a help phone # you can call and they will help you get setup. I found them inexpensive, so that was why I went with them.

You can pm me if you think I can help too.

Godaddy is a great hosting company and one of the cheapest around. They will try and offer you all these extras on checkout, do not purchase them.

The only thing you need is a .com name (usually around $8.95 or so a year) then purchase your web hosting plan. If you are not a business and need a lot of traffic (purchasing online, etc), then get one of the cheapest. I think I pay $4 a month. You can always upgrade later. That is it!

If you purchase both together from godaddy, it is pretty much set up for you as soon as you pay. If you purchase them at the different times, you have to go into your hosting settings and select your .com name and they will conect the two (pointsit to your hosting space.)

Hope that helps.
