Hi!
Thanksfully, this is only a tiny disaster, and a free cake at that. I am in a group where we have secret sisters. Today is the revealing... where you show who you are. The lady who has been mine wrote that she loves cake and calla liilies. I was so excited when I read "cake" cause I knew that was my ally... but I couldn't let her know who I was (shh...it's a secret). Cake would have given it away.
SO I have been waiting to combine her 2 favs and bless her! I made her name last week so it could dry, along with the flowers.
I finished it up last night, took pics, put it away then it dawned on me..... I think I spelled her name wrong!
Hubby looked it up, and yup- her name is CECILIA. I left out an I!!
I have no way, nor no time to fix it, so I hope that doesn't detract from her joy... maybe she'll think it's funny icon_redface.gif

Oh I don't think she'll mind at all, especially once she sees the cake. You did a great job and she is going to LOVE it! I'm sure she isn't expecting anything like that!!

You know, it is a very common thing to mispell names! She will not mind at all! The cake is beautiful! It is for something that is a personal gift so everyone is not going to know except your group and you and your husband. If you tell them! Maybe just whisper it to her later! It truly is an honet mistake and I wouldn't be so hard on yourself!

It is georgous! thumbs_up.gif

Couldn't you take it off and cover with her name in buttercream? Maybe not ideal, but probably better than the wrong name! The cake is beautiful, though! icon_smile.gif

The cake looks lovely. I would just tell her that you were sorry that you spelled her name wrong. I'm sure she won't mind.

Thanks guys!
The idea of buttercream would have worked exept I had no extra and no time to make any... I had to take it first thing this morning.
So, when i gave it to her, I whispered that I was sorry for misspelling it. I had actually been misspelling her name on all the cards and gifts I had given her so far!
My hubby said to explain I am dyslexic (HIS diagnosis) in all actuality I just a horrible speller.
Thank goodness it wasn't a paid cake!
(And it left her in tears with joy icon_biggrin.gif )

haha that's exactly what I would have said too. Just make it funny when it's something little (and when it's a good deed) and people will just laugh it off with you icon_biggrin.gif
