Using Impression Mat On Buttercream?

I have a ? for the pros- Is there anyway you can use the diamond impression mat with a NON crusting buttercream? What would ya'll suggest?

Or you may try dusting the mat with powdered sugar or cornstarch really well in between each press. Have never tried on non-crusting, only on crusting.
