Good evening everyone, I need to pick some brains about FBCT's! I have 2 cakes this week & a dozen cookies and i would like to try the FBCT's on both!
- My first cake is a Hocky Puck & i need to do a dozen cookies that look like pucks ( my cousins hubby is a huge Dallas Stars Fan)
- My second cake is a Basketball for a co-workers Dallas Maverics Playoff party!! (want to do the logo in the FBCT)
I have gone over the Tutorial by Cali4dawn... she says to use wax paper but will Parchment paper work? I hate trying to go to the store when i get off work (6am, i work 3 14 hr shifts in a row and its deadly with a baby at home)!!!! Any help would be great!!!
I haven't tried the parchment paper, but I would be afraid that it would stick to it. I guess you could always use a little crisco on it, but I would be afraid to.
Invest in the wax paper. Better be safe than sorry.
I used parchment paper for my first FBCT, and it turned out great! I actually just saw a tip from somebody recently saying that she ONLY uses parchment paper because it's so much easier to get the FBCT off of. I've seen many others say they use waxed paper, though, so I'm sure it's just a matter of preference. But yes, you can use parchment, it works beautifully. Just don't skip the most important step--print out your image in reverse!!! I forgot this part--was in too much of a hurry to try a new technique--and was nearly halfway finished with my FBCT before I realized that I was going to have an unreadable mirror image! LOL I scrapped it, started over, and was thrilled with the way it turned out! (The Mets cake in my photos.) Good luck, and have fun with your FBCT's! ![]()
