I thought this was very impressive. The ease and speed at which everything is done by these ever advancing machines leaves me wondering!

Just wanted to share! icon_biggrin.gif

Could you imagine getting a cake from a machine???? I like the way it makes the icing smooth, but that cannot POSSIBLY taste good!!! I didn't see it do anything but one layers so we will still be needed for wedding cakes and topsy turvy cakes icon_biggrin.gif

I am not afraid.....lol

I was wondering how they did that crappy job on those predecorated cakes we were getting at wallymart
Now I know. sheesh....Don't worry ladies. that frosting is crap and the workmanship or machineship as it were is less than desirable. Not to mention, I'd like to see m try to frost mechanically a domed cake. mmmmmm, o well it could happen but still it's like those mass produced barn paintings, yeah it's ok but it just ain't the same as owning or painting the real deal.

I dunno - there are quite a few manufacturers that sell exclusively to restaurants that use these types of devices, and I think some of them are tasty.

It is just a different environment. Youneed to do a lot of exactly the same thing for something like this to be effective - I'm not worried because the market for a personalized one of a kind handmade dessert will always be there. Two different markets entirely, IMHO.

I think that machine looks like it would be awesome. I hate smoothing icing. I may very well save that bookmark as we are talking about starting a wholesale bakery operation.

Inventions like this are one more reason I don't do sheet cakes, only serve from scratch, real butter, no artificial ingredients cakes. It's artisan quality versus manufactured product.
