I just made some in the last week, if you have a look at my photos you will see it, let me know if you like them and I can send instructions. THey are gumpaste. Original design was from SOCAKE.... mine are no where near as good as hers but I learnt a lot from making them.

Would love the instructions too if you don't mind have to make a baby cake in the next few months and have been looking for a nice pattern.
Thanks

Thanks for the compliments guys.

The instructions were sent to me by the wonderful SOCAKE but due to the short time I was under I had already made them (well attempted to). Lucky for me I made them very similar to how she instructed.

I used gumpaste... as it is quick drying.

Roll into a sausage shape...... the thickness of the sausage should be about how high you would like the front of the bootie to be (the bit that covers the toe.

Cut sausage in half so that both booties will be the same (approx).

Bend one end up to a 90degree angle. Then either with your thumb or small dowel poke it into the end you have just raised. This will form the hollow part of the bootie (where you slip your foot in).

Use your fingers to frill out the top by thining it... the thinning of it will give you excess which you can then ruffle into the right shape.

Allow to dry.

I use fabric ribbon as my fondant ribbon just would not work... but if you check out SOCAKES cake she made beautiful fondant ribbon ties.

Hope this info helps.
