I have iced frozen cakes before. My only suggestion is to poke holes in your cake. not very big ones, take your nail and just poke it in a few places (i usually over poke to make sure i have enough)
Now you can ice completely while frozen without doing this however I have not had good luck with it.... here is the reason.
When icing your cake frozen it freezes the icing (although does make it easier to smooth) But while it is thawing your cake expands (as most things do when they warm up) so if your cake doesnt' have anywhere to go then it will also expand your icing. So with those little holes in there it gives it just that little extra place to go.
So go for it! I don't see a problem frositng it =)
