What brand of cake pans do you use and why.

Are these the same brand pans you started out with?

Asking because I don't have too many pans yet, but don't want to wind up with pans that'll end up in the yardsale....

I have a mixture of Wilton brand pans and Decorator Prefered. They work well for me (I do cakes as a hobby/extra money). I love them.

I also have both Wilton and Decorator Prefered. Plus a few ancient ones that my family had "dug up" for me. I love them all!!

I have both Wilton and Decorator Preferred as well. I guess you just have to consider what types of cakes you will be doing the most and take it from there. One word of caution though if you use Wilton or Decorator Preferred DO NOT PUT THESE PANS IN A DISHWASHER!!!!!

Hey there
A lot of times putting pans in the dishwasher will break them down and make them rust, it also messes up with the non stick. Handwashing is always best.

I have Wilton and Magic Line. I prefer the Magic line rounds and squares over the wilton, I am gradually getting all Magic line of these shapes. they seem to bake better for me and they give me nicer corners, edges, and sides. However Wilton is the only cake pans with the shapes (hex, petal, heart, oval) that I can find in the US. I know there are companies in australia and europe that sell these shapes, plus other odd shapes, but i haven't wanted to pay the shipping.
