Just thought I would share this with anyone that has purchased this when they made their trip to disney! When my FIL purchased it for my little one. I thought it was expensive and wonder what and if it would ever be used again. Well, I have found a use!!! It works great to dry color flow pieces and fondont pieces. So, If you have one...... just thought I would pass it on.

After paying a small fortune for one of those, I'm glad to see that you found another use for it. icon_lol.gif

Now that's using your head! I'm one for having things around like that which I never use again myself, so your thinking sure inspires me to think of other uses for things like that too.

My main reason for responding was your talking about drying fondant peices reminded me that I've been wanting to ask you experts about that. I just keep forgetting to ask, it's that old thingy setting in on me I think. Anyway, I've just recently started playing around with fondant and need to know, what in the world are you painting fondant pieces with? I tried to make a little animal, which I did. Well I assumed you paint them with your wilton paste, which I did. Well I'm here to tell ya, it's been 2 months and they're STILL wet.....LOL. Oh yeah, I'm pretty good at assuming too. But I know I'm not always right and I think this is one of them time. So how do you paint them peices?

Thanks, and now stop laughing so hard where you can't even type so you can send me an answer. Thank you!

I always use coloured fondant for mine so no need to paint them... maybe someone else has an idea.

Cashley, I am not 100% sure since I haven't done it but I think you can use vodka (because the alcohol will evaporate) with a tiny amount of the pastes and then there won't be much on there and they will dry. Hope that is right.

i mix a very small amount of wilton paste with lemon flavoring and it dries in about 24 hours.

Thank you glory. Being a pastor's wife, I was about to say well looks like I won't be coloring any fondant because I would never go purchase vodka. Lemon juice is much better! Thank you both for your help. I'll use that next time. When I did it, I just painted it directly from the paste to the fondant paste. When they NEVER dried, I knew then something wasn't right....LOL. Thanks again ladies. - Ellie

My MIL bought me one almost like it last year while she was on vacation at the beach, now don't laugh to hard, but she got it for me because I have hot flashes so bad and thought it would helpicon_smile.gif

Lemon juice probably won't give you the effect you're after, you'll need to use lemon extract. Big difference - the extract is alcohol based, so it'll dry very quickly!

Oh my goodness, thank you I totally missed that. GloryToGod did say lemon FLAVORING. I never even thought extract, I automatically thought of lemon JUICE. You saved me, thank you big bunches!

Yes night sweats are the WORST, so I just set on the side of the bed with it until the hot flash passes, I just wish it was bigger, like for the whole upper body partsicon_smile.gif

Oh no topaz176, I wish you would have seen it sooner too! I do have to admit mine almost didnt make it out of the hotel room when we were packing up. But my five year old insisted that we find room for it. Good thing he did.
