I've used this tip before, and never had this problem icon_cry.gificon_cry.gif .....the bc isn't coming out all of the holes! Sometimes 2 or 3 holes, sometimes only 1!!!!

I've washed it well! I have even been poking a toothpick in the holes from the both sides of the tip.

I don't get it....I can't finish the cake I'm working on!!!!!!!!!!!! icon_mad.gif

Help please!!!!!

Is it possible that your icing is too stiff? I've had this problem with this tip before & I had to thin the icing just a little bit. Also check to make sure there aren't any clumps or crumbs in your icing...hth

The consistency of your icing may be too thick or heavy...try adding a couple drops of water...

It's pretty thin...a good writing consistency.

If there are clumps or anything in it...how do I go about getting those out?

I wonder if some dried icing got mixed up in it...like from the edges of the bowl or something. Has this happened to anyone?

I've had some crusted edges get in before (and I've had Wilton decorator icing with lumps before!!! Oh was I mad!). No matter how much you beat it, the lumps won't go away and the icing will be beaten tooooo much.

Only way I've gotten them out is to work my icing through a sieve, which takes forEVER. I saw mention once of putting the icing inside a pair of panty hose or stockings (two layers, brand new and cleaned) and working it through that too. I haven't tried that but bet it would work. You can run your finger through your bowl of icing to see if you feel any lumps.

Make sure the holes in your tip are open enough too. (sometimes they get smashed a little and the holes aren't round anymore or open enough). You can stick the pointed end of a rose nail inside to spread them open again. If it doesn't fit, an awl would work (like a screw driver with a sharp point).

Hope you can figure it all out so you can finish your cake!!!!!!

I'd put the icing back in the mixing bowl and turn it on low for 5 minutes.........then try again.

Thank you!!! I finished the cake.......I opened up the holes with the flower nail and it worked!! YAY!!! icon_biggrin.gif
