I looooove Buttercream Dream, but lately I've had issues with air bubbles. I'm pretty obsessive about creaming my butter/shortening, could that be the problem? Here's my process.
-cream the h$#% out of the butter and Crisco (sometimes med speed, sometimes high)
-add the vanilla and mix a bit more (I sometimes also add coloring here)
-sift in 1 lb. of sugar, mix to incorporate (slow to avoid a cloud)
-scrape the bowl, sift in last lb. of sugar, mix to incorporate (slow speed again)
-scrape the bowl and add my milk, mix for a min or two until creamy (med speed)
Any ideas? I'm getting super frustrated.
I read in another forum post here saying that Crisco changed it's recipe and now it has no Trans Fat. A lot of people have gotten air bubbles because of this. Some have suggested using generic shortening. I will look for the link to this post and give it to you.
