I have a baby shower cake to do for a friend and she requested fluffy frosting. Can someone please tell me what fluffy frosting is? icon_redface.gif
So far all I have done is basic stuff like buttercream, cream cheese and whipped. I have never heard of fluffy frosting. Would Rich's be considered as fluffy?

TIA

Gee - I dunno! In my warped mind, IMBC would be "fluffy" because the base is whpped egg whites and the mouth feel is smooth and light. Here's a bump to see what others think...

I personally would call 7 minute meringue 'fluffy frosting', but it's probably likely that she is referring to something like Rich's. Many people have nothing but store bought cakes as a frame of reference, so if I had to guess, I would say yes.
Maybe ask her to describe it a little. Glossy ( meringue) or Airy and Whipped-cream texture ( Rich's)
Hope that helps.

I would agree that IMBC or any other kind of meringue frosting is fluffy. I prefer Duff's because you do not have to heat the sugar, big thread on that going on right now with a few different recipes.
