OK..everyone knows how much I love fondant.. ![]()
But...has anyone used the poured version...to dip cupcakes etc..the finish looks beautiful..but how about the taste?
I use Satin Ice, when I have to use the stuff at all.
I'm used to slathering cupcakes with nice gobs of BC..but sometimes I want the "sleek" finish of a poured fondant.
You can't beat the stuff for finish, and it makes up alot of the stuff, I think it tastes pretty good, very sweet, perfect for cookies, which is usually what I use it on. I found out it does sweat an can be soft so I do not stack or put them in cello bags. Makes a goshawful mess.
Tiggy...if I decide to use it I'll have to dig one up..I think you soften the fondant and then add water???
I've seen it on cupcakes..looks wonderful...it was the taste I was curious about.
I have used the Wilton poured fondant recipe; there is not much to it but sugar and water, so that's pretty much what it tastes like. It wasn't one of my favs, but its better than regular fondant.
