Hi. I'm making a 12, 10, 7 stacked buttercream Wizard of Oz cake tonight.

I want to use the brick impression mat on some yellow fondant to add a yellow brick road winding up the front of the 3 tiers from the bottom to the top.

I'm not quite sure what the best way is to do this.

If I print the bricks on the fondant first and then try to lift it and lay it vertically on the cake, I'm thinking the brick pattern is going to get all stretched out and distorted.

But if I apply the fondant first, how will I be able to imprint only the yellow brick road part without making bricks on my white buttercream?

Can anyone figure out the best way to make this work? Thanks, and did I mention I have to do this tonight? icon_eek.gif

I think it would be best to imprint it first and then lay it on the cake. make the fondant kind of thick so it wont be so stretchy.
