Oh better yet, next time she has her little dessert plate with a slice of your yummy cake, just remove it from the table bonk her in the head like Jeanette said and hand her an oreo. No cake for you!!!!! icon_biggrin.gif

(I use to love the roses and give me the corner piece anytime just like my mom, until I started sculpting them. Now even my husband can't stand the smell of icing and we take out the trash the same night because of the smell.....instead we eat the warm cake tops and sculpting scraps with a glass of milk. Oh la la then I'm in heaven.)

I have also had that problem, but if 2 out of 10 people are complaining why would I change it to gain the two customers but then lose the eight.
So, brush off her complaining and don't stress over the little things but rejoice over the people that loves it.

Relax and don't change your icing!!

That it, I have concluded, I am in fact 2 people in 1 body. Give me a bowl of ice cream, and a bag of chips right afterwards. Life is grand!

With some people you will never win.

I have a friend that tells me at weddings "Give me the piece with ALL the icing and then I usually have extra icing I can put on her piece. This is the HOOT it is the ALL CRISCO icing with Butter (CK) Flavoring! Her cholesterol is OUT THE ROOF and she weighs 6 lbs!!!! But, hey she's gonna be 50 on her birthday and I'm sending her a TUB of my ICING for her present! LOL

I love the icing (can't eat it but love it), the only thing now is I can't stand the smell. I smell it after the cake, after my shower and in bed I smell like frosting. My DH started calling me cupcake!!! icon_sad.gif

He says you ALWAYS smell like frosting. So..maybe it seeps into the skin or something...dunno

Hey! My Memaw Polly taught me that you ALWAYS had to have something salty to "cut" the sweet taste! LOL

I always use orange extract instead of butter extract. The butter extract nauseates me so I just don't use it. Everyone compliments me on my icing and says it's not too sweet. I've only had one person who didn't like it and they don't like oranges.

I wouldn't change a good recipe. I am still bouncing a few around and if that is what you are doing fine. But if the people you make the cakes for love it then DONT change it. It would be a cold day in he$$ before I would change something that worked for me and a bunch of other people but didn't work for one hard to please person JMO icon_smile.gif

Thinking the BC has soaked into my skin and gave my DH high choleresterol (sp) instead of the fried chicken lol

I have to tell you what I did today.

I tried to make people (that was a trip and a half) and they kept falling apart on me. At one point one of the heads fell and I couldn't find it. I thought maybe it fell on the floor and the dog ate it. But, I found it.

So I thought I'll make some kind of glue. So I took a cup of con sugar, 2 Tlb of Merigune (sp) powder and some water. It worked. When I was cleaning up I have a habit of scooping out a figure of frosting before putting in the sink (you would see it if you saw me). I made the mistake of doing this with my homemade glue. Talk about something tasting awful. I can't get the taste out of my mouth.

Next time she has cake, scrape the icing off. I'm sure someone else would want it. (ME, ME, ME)
