I am stacking a 2 layer 8 and 6 on top of a single layer sheet cake. I have never done this before. I have also never used dowels. Whenever I have stacked in the past I used hidden pillars.
I need advice on how to stack this so that it is very stable. I have to drive it across town to my church and I am a NERVOUS WRECK about it. ![]()
thanks!

If you're really concerned, you can dowel the cake and mark for stacked tier placement - but not stack the cakes until you arrive at church.
Just be sure to bring a pastry bag of frosting and tips for adding borders when cakes are stacked.

Sorry I am being so neurotic about this..I was talking to a friend of mine who stacked on top of a sheet cake and had a SERIOUS disaster and now I am just sick worrying about it....
