I just had my first inspection with the health dept today. I just thought I was meeting her and we ended up doing the whole start up thing. It went great and she gave me the thumbs up to get started. THe next time I meet with her is at my pre opening walk. I can't believe it. It is actually going to happen. YEEE HAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry I had to share. It was that or attempt a back flip, I thought this would be less dangerous!

Thanks, well I have my business partner (as of yesterday) and I'm finding everything I need to know and looking for a place now. I can't "open" until after school starts back up at the end of Aug. (it's going to be a loonnnggggg summer, LOL).

mom2seven. I feel like that too. I feel like this will be a long road. This took such a load off today it was such a relieve. I was so nervous going to meet her. She even gave me a complete list of what I need so I won't forget anything. That was great. We went through the place step by step and she wrote it all down for me. I need that, I dont'know what I am doing in that respect. Or at least i htought that until we went through it. Lots of commen sense involved!

Thank you!! I am actually really fortunate to be joining a place already existing, they had a back room that is 11x27 they were not using so they said I could have it. It would have been a great start up space but to boot I get to use their kitchen for the baking, so no need for lots of the other health code stuff. I also get to use their 3 trough sink, those would have taken a big chunk out of my space. But overall it is a really good size, especially since I will be doing mostly just decorating in there. I will also have my fridge in there too.
I can't believe you are ready to build, that is soooo exciting. Maybe someday I will be at that stage, I can hope

I am worried that I will get caught so this is such a load off. I keep getting orders. and always worry that somehow they will find out. Yikes.

Well, I finally did it. I got my shop done and my final inspection this week. I passed with flying colors!! YEAH!! Well it's official I am now a business owner. Sounds so strange, but cool.
Finally took some pics of the finished shop, I thought I would share. It still needs some finish work but it is up and running. Let me know if you have any suggestions. I'll take 'em! These are posted counter clockwise around the room. I only wish I took before pics, this place was a pit.
