What causes someone to put a specific picture in their favorites album? I was looking through my pictures today and I think the last 2-3 cakes I've done have been the best so far, but they don't have many views or any "faves." Some other ones I don't think are as good have tons of views and faves (i.e. my first 2 decorated cupcakes, before I even took a class...). Just kind of makes you go "hmmmm." icon_smile.gif

I think for me it is if I see an Idea that I have been thinking about or have been wanting to do. Another one is if I see a technique that I haven't seen before and want the picture for reference. Also if one makes me drop my mouth when I first look at the picture, that one usually gets saved to. It really depends on weather or not i'm just browsing through the galleries, or if I"m looking for something in particular on what I save.

As for the recent ones not getting as much saves or comments it is probably b/c they are newer. I don't get to look through the galleries that much but when I do I go to the "most recent photos" and go through about 10-15 pages. So your recent ones probably just haven't been seen as much as your other ones.

I agree, it can take time. Normally, what I save the most is what I think that I am able to do, or something that I may do in the future.

There have been a lot of pictures loaded lately. My last 2 stayed on page 1 for less than an hour. Within a day, they were all the way back to page 6. I assume that is the reason they also have very few views.

If it is something I think I would try to do or it has a technique I want to remember I save it to my favorites. If I saved every cake I liked I would be lost in the pics never remembering why I saved them, does that make sense? Some of my pics are saved as peoples favorites and it makes me laugh because why on earth would they do that lol. Must be pity saves icon_lol.gif

I like to pick cakes with things I want to try or examples for ideas for friends, but if you have some type of cute animal on it I will save it just to go awww everytime I look at it icon_smile.gif

I often save a picture of something that I find inspiring or something that I may want to try in the future.

I have also noticed recent pics getting less views, could it be anything to do with the new home page layout? Before I used to always click straight onto newest pictures but I can't find that as an option now. Anyone else any thoughts on this one??

I know that I tend to only put pictures in my favorites of cakes that I think I could comfortably attempt making because of my experience level. I may see a gorgeous cake but know that I'm nowhere near the ability level to make it and so I just pass on until one catches my eye that I think I could try. I do, however, comment on the fancy cakes that I see even if I don't save them. icon_smile.gif

I don't think I was very clear in what I said, but what I meant was that i used to click on the words 'Newest Pictures' and it used to open up the whole page. I love the larger new pics images but now I can't link to the others as I often miss some and like to see. (I know that there are other ways to view the page but that was the quick way - and I do like a shortcut!!).
