Question - Enhanced Cake Recipe- Quick
Decorating By donnajf Updated 27 Apr 2006 , 3:38am by freddyfl
Recently, I was looking for a fool proof Yellow Cake recipe & someone
( I forgot who- I'm sorry
) suggested that I try the ENHANCED Cake recipe. I would like to try it this pm. However, I have some questions:
#1 -It called for - cake mix- which one? pudding in the mix or plain?
( I was comparing The Cakemix Doctor's recipe that suggested plain which bye the way, has similar ingredients);
#2 - are there any adjustments for large sheet cakes? or is ok 3x the recipe? I'm doing a 12x18x2
#3- may I subsitute the butter for margerine?
these questions sound stupid but ![]()
Thanks
Last question (sorry ) would 4 boxes of CM be enough batter or would it too much? ![]()
Thanks again.
Donna,
I used this one http://www.cakecentral.com/cake_recipe-1599-Enhanced-Cake-Formula.html and the mixes (PB) did have pudding in them. With the PB mix, it makes between 8 - 10 cups of batter, so 12 x 18 x 2 I believe would need 2 of the enhanced mixes. Not sure about the substitute- I have never bought margarine in my life (Farmer's daughter), so not sure how it compares to butter. Maybe someone else can answer this one.

I am a faithful user of the enhanced cake recipe. I use the pillsbury mix (blue box) with pudding in the mix but always use butter. If I am remembering correctly, 2 mixes will fill 2 10" 3" deep rounds so I think 2 mixes would be enough to fill your pan. If you want a really high cake I would try 3 mixes. You will probably be left with some extra.
