Hi all,
I would love to hear your oppinions, recipies, pro's and con's to your favorite fondant. I am not totally "sold" on any particular type, so I just want to see who likes what best and why? Thank you so much ahead of time for your time!! S

I like mmf, it's cheap, easy to make and I like the taste. I do not care for Wilton fondant it is the weirdest tasting concoction and it costs too much! That is all I have tried so far.

Ditto here...but I would love to hear what other people have tried, liked or disliked and why.

I like the mmf as well . My kids loved the taste and it was quite easy to make and handle. icon_smile.gif

Personal preference is for Satin Ice. The chocolate taste kinda like a tootsie roll and I could just eat it all day. The white and other colors smell like vanilla and are delicious. I'm going to buy a tub of Fondx and the other one that starts with a "P" this summer just so I can get a feel for the texture and taste.

I like the convenience of bought fondant vs. making it myself. Besides, I have problems getting my buttercream the exact same way twice. I would hate to see what I would do to MMF.

Oh boy Mcshay, I agree with you on getting a consistent recipe every time I make it......so I buy Pettinice. It tastes great. It is expensive however, so I have to plan accordingly. It molds and drapes beautifully. And I love the fact I can get black, red and green at the store I buy it from......

Wilton fondant smells like chemicals so I could never eat it. But there was a thread not to long back on how to make it better tasting with candy flavors, but haven't had the guts to try it yet.....

Hope you all don't mind my ignorance--just signed up on this site yesterday....exactly what is mmf? I could probably figure it out, but did not have nearly enough coffee today.

I tried the Wilton fondant once and it was awful. I see fondant cakes everywhere, so I am sure there must be some kind that is edible, but just haven't found one yet! I'm sticking with my buttercream for now.

MMF is marshmellow fondant and taste wonderful.. I love the texture and taste of it. I like the rolled buttercream too just a little greasy though but works wonderful. I hate the wilton fondant and will never use again. I make all my own fondant and the MMF is by far the easiest I have tried.
