Hi . Yesterday I did the Dawn's BC , and I have a little poblem. I think my BC is too dry. It dosen't look very smooth and has a dry texture.
For example , I tried making stars and instead of having tips , my BC kinda broke when pulling the tip up ? I don,t know how to explain.
So I added a bit of milk , but I'm scared of adding to mutch...
What do I need to look fo to know if my BC is perfect ?
( At least I know that it crust fine ! )
So for now my BC is in the fridge waiting ...

Thanks for your help !

You can add more liquid about a teaspoon at a time and mix well until you get it to the consistency you want. That should fix it.

so my problem may be not "moist" enought...Cause I tought that maybe my icing needed more shortening...

So ok...i will had more liquid.

I make dawn's BC resipe all the time and initially it turned out dry on me too, but I just add more liquid (milk, flavoring, coffee creamer, etc.) to get to the right consistency.

If it is too dry when you are piping flowers, etc., it might help to add a few drops of corn syrup or piping gel to make it smoother. Janice
