Suggestions Needed On Not Refrigerating Cake......
Decorating By Leemorel Updated 15 Jun 2007 , 8:34pm by JanH
I am doing a communion cake. I use a buttercream frosting that has
4 oz. of milk in it, butter, and a little Crisco. The little boy wants it filled. Question is that the communion is on a Sunday, but due to scheduling, I need to deliver the cake the Friday before. Would it be ok to leave the decorated cake unrefrigerated for that long?
Also, any suggestions on filling that won't make the cake soggy and doesn't need refrigeration? It could be refrigerated, but it would take up a lot of room. Suggestions?
Thanks a bunch!! ![]()
Here's a handy chart for determing whether frosting and/or filling requires refrigeration:
