They want cake centerpieces like the ones in my picture gallery. I did the bottom a 3inch tall 8 inch filled and a 6 inch not filled top. What would you charge for a single one of these?????

Here goes Debi doing the numbers again: icon_wink.gif

12 each of 8" round and 6" round. Those will use slightly less than 2 mixes, so let's be conservative and assume 20 mixes.

I use 7 mixes per wedding cake for 100. so 20 mixes would serve alittle more than 250 people, but we'll use 250 to keep it simple. At my a la carte price of $2.50 per person, this comes to $625. Divided by 12 cakes gives you $52 per cake.

Is she expecting 250 guests? If not, then this is the problem with having mini or centerpiece cakes ..... the bride ends up with way more cake than she actually needs.

She only needs 12 cakes? So that means she's only having 12 guest tables? Round guest tables will only seat 8 people at the most, so she's planning 96 guests? And wants cake for 250?

Actually, I was typing so fast and didn't explain. The ones in the pics were for my best friends wedding shower so I didn't care about the cost, I thought the size looked nice.

Someone who attended the shower is asking for them for a shower their throwing. They should probably only have 10 at a table, but she wanted the same size cakes. Couldn't I get away with doing a 6 inch double layer and a 4 inch single? Would this look bad??
