I do not remove the paper from the frosting! It's made to go through your printer just like paper. I leave the frosting on the paper until it's ready to go on the cake. thumbs_up.gif

I've put several in a bag at the same time, with no problem at all.

You print on the frosting...not on the plastic backing.

After printing one in advance, I make sure it's dry enough not to smear and then I slide it back into the bag beneath all of the blank ones. Keeps the colors from being exposed to any light thumbs_up.gif .

Also do not remove the frosting sheet from the plastic backing before printing. That leaves only one side icon_smile.gif

Just put the sheet in your printer as if it were paper. Don't peel it off beforehand. Then print directly onto the frosting. Hope that makes sense!

Cady - I see that I slightly misread your question, too. icon_smile.gif

KopyKake's instructions to remove the frosting from the backing before printing causes all SORTS of confusion. I can't IMAGINE why they would say that. There ain't NO way I'm putting pure frosting sheets through my printer!

Ditto! Man! Why would they say that?!! icon_surprised.gificon_eek.gif I looked at my instruction sheet and sure enough, that's what it says! icon_confused.gif Wow! I'm glad I did't read that first! AND it says that it's an "important step to protect the quality of the decoration". hmmmm

I"m going to investigate....

It's madness! LOL! The advice is fairly new and I think it's short lived icon_smile.gif

ok, here's the scoop, copied directly from www.kopykake.com

Avoid drying times when you
print Frosting Sheets without a
backing sheet.
Print and place directly on to
your cake.

Still, I'm not gonna do that! I've had too much trouble with my printer! icon_smile.gif

It's hard to find on their site but it's in the help files...

Printing without the Backing Sheet

We recommend you print your Frosting Sheets having first removed the backing. This is often an unknown recommendation because users sometimes have difficulty drying and removing the edible Frosting from the backing after the ink jet process.

Don't worry, our edible Frosting Sheet is designed to go through an ink jet printer without its backing sheet.

And here's a copy of the info sheet for frosting sheets...

http://www.kopykake.com/documents/FrostingSheetMA016-1sidedUSA90.pdf

They used to tell you not to remove the backing. Then they said the frosting sheets were new and improved and their US customers should remove the backing and now it's just their standard advice to everyone.
