Hi everyone. I'm going nuts and I hope that someone can guide me in the right direction. After many years, we are remodeling our kitchen. I am so unsure as to which color appliances, counter tops, tile and flooring to get. I need some pictures. I've never been good at putting colors together and I desperately need some visuals to help me to decide. Does anyone know of any websites that would have like kitchen makeovers or something similar? The only thing I am sure about is the oak cabinets which will be natural with a lacquer (pretty light) This is supposed to be a time where I am all excited because we desperately need some renovation done and we're finally doing it. The kitchen is 51 years old and still has all of the original appliance and everything. So, I should be extremely excited but yet I find myself so stressed out because I'm afraid that I will choose all the wrong things and it won't match. Please guide me in the right direction if you can. Thanks so much!!
Margie

If you do an image search on google for "kitchen" or "kitchen remodel", etc, you will get a ton of pictures. From there you can narrow down your style and have a starting point of similar things to look for.

HGTV, bobvila.com, and This Old House have some good tips/ideas, too.

I don't know if this will help, but maybe you can work from a color scheme from a favorite kitchen towel or pot holder. I plan on remodeling my kitchen this year and the first thing I picked was my kitchen textiles. They are the french chefs; which background colors are tan, brown, wine and black (the chefs are in white). My cabinets will be a light brown or tan with either a dark grey or black counter top with the walls in a tan or taupe. You can also find a great poster or picture to put up on a kitchen wall and work off the colors from that. They have some really nice kitchen theme posters at Labellecuisine.com.
I hope this helps!
Regards,
Naty

I sort of did what Naty is suggesting.....someone gave me a votive candle jar that I loved~ and my kitchen color scheme is literally based on that jar! Though I didin't do a remodel....I change things alot. Do the work myself. When I got tired of ivory painted cabinets~ I put an antique glaze on them. I read in my research that alot of new homes are beating up the cabinets and then glazing them!!! LOL Well~ I already had beaten-up cabinets! LOL Good luck to you!!!!
