Hi All!
I was just wondering if anyone has ever painted royal icing before and what did you use? I tried to make a Lightning McQueen image and paint him with gel color and vodka and it just ate the royal icing! Well, I have a wedding cake in July that I was planning on using silver luster dust and vodka to paint over a royal icing celtic knot design and now I know that won't work. So, I was thinking of using the luster dust with confectioner's glaze. Would that work? Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
HeatherMari

Colette Peters paints her brushed embroidery with luster dust mixed with lemon extract and I tried that and it works. Also, she mixes petal dusts with water and paints with those like water colors. I tried both of these and they worked with the brushed embroidery and we used royal icing for that, so I would think it would work for your celtic knot, but I'm not sure. I'm sure someone on here will know for sure what to tell you! Good luck!

Thank you so much! I will have to give it a test and see how it works!
Thanks again,
