This is the cake I am doing for a wedding in May. I am quite perplexed as to how much to charge. Should I charge extra because it's carved?

Cheers,
Darci

This is a beauty? White on White always looks fabulous! Was it hard to cut the cakes to the shape you wanted?

It looks big, I know, but it will only end up serving about 75.

It's just 3 or 4 square layers stuck together, frozen, and cut at an angle.

Newtodecorating-- I never realized how true it was until recently!

Sorry, I was focusing on how pretty the cake is! Considering that you had to carve the cake, I would suggest at at least $3.50 a serving.

I would say since it has to be carved, and it depends on your area.

Maybe 3.25-3.75 per serving sound fair that puts it in the $243-$280 range.

I would charge a bare minimum of $250 to $300 or more because of carving. Even though ithis is fairly staight carving, it's still time consuming and you have to have the slants accurate.

Another thing to look at is what type of cake you are making. Carrot is more than white or chocolate. Are you using fondant? There are so many things to consider in pricing a cake.

GOOD LUCK & please post a pic when you finish it.

Thank you all for the input!

It's just a basic buttercream so it shouldn't be terribly complicated, but I'm a little nervous all the same.
