It's Over! First Wedding Cake!

So, this was my first wedding cake. Many hours later and some very sore feet, but I was so happy with it, I wanted to cry. Sure, there were imperfections, but I tried really hard to look past them and see what everyone else saw. The bride absolutely loved it, so did the family. I got one lady that said, "that is the best tasting wedding cake I've ever had, they usually taste like cardboard". I found out later that she used to own a bakery and that she's "the chef" in the family. I did an almond cake with almond buttercream and satinice. The flowers were silk (I was told they were going to be real, only found out they were silk when I got there). Anyway, thanks for looking...and sharing in my delight.

that's really nice looking icon_biggrin.gif very simple and elegant in design. did you cover the cake boards with the fondant also? i like how they match really nicely.
