i've only used fondant a couple of time, for figures. My question is - what shape cake is easier to cover with fondant - round or square? I'm making a dummy cake for a silent auction and want to make a really nice demo cake? any tips would be appreciated!

It's really easy.. Just make sure you put the dummy cake on a higher surface so that the mmf can hang down.. You will then need to smooth the sides like you were smoothing a skirt. meaning: w/one hand you will be pulling out the bottom of the mmf while smoothing w/the other hand from behind. all shapes will be the same to cover.

I hope this helps.
