I found a thread on here the other day about Crisco changing their formula and the icing having white specks of shortening showing up when colored. I didn't save the thread and now I can't find it. Can anyone help? I just wanted to follow up and see if anyone had suggestions on how to keep using crisco and not having that problem. Thanks!!!

If your shortening is very stiff try warming it slightly in the microwave before making your frosting. Sometimes any shortening is just too stiff and doesn't mix well.

Since Crisco has changed their formula, you might want to try a different brand. I actually like the less expensive all vegetable shortenings you can get at the grocery stores. I have had no problems with them.
