Hi, I'm hoping you can help me. My friend's in-laws are coming to stay from Iowa and I have asked them to bring me meringue powder. They apparently can't find it anywhere! Now, I know this can't really be the case, so can you give me some specific stores that you know carry it - they live in Des Moines and have tried the Super Walmart with no luck (although they may be looking in the wrong aisle!). If anyone can help me, I'd be really grateful! Thanks icon_biggrin.gifthumbs_up.gif

I am not familiar with Des Moines, but did your friend's in-laws look in the craft section for the cake decorating supplies at Wal-mart? Otherwise, there is more than likely a Michael's store or Hobby Lobby. Hope that helps!

Thanks Edibleart - any other Iowans know for sure where they can get some - they are 68 & 70 years old, so I really don't want to be sending them around the entire state lol!

Walmart has it. Tell them to look for the wedding items, it will be near these, most likely on a low shelf.

A majority of wal-marts carry Meringue powder. It is in their craft section next to the wedding supplies. It is not in the normal grocery area.

I know for sure Michael's in Ankeny carries it. I have picked some up there when I was going through. If they can get to a Michael's or Hobby Lobby then just have them ask an employee if they don't want to be wandering the store.

Hope this helps! Do they have email? Send them this link so they know what container they are looking for. Sometimes knowing what to look for exactly can make it jump out on the shelf a little easier =)

Forgot to say if you need directions to the Michaels in Ankeny just let me know. I drive by their once a week during the school year =)
