Hey everybody! I need some creative brains to help me think of some new flavors. I came to baking from the bread side and now am really getting into cakes. I still sell a lot of my bread at local produce shops and "trade days". I have quite a few flavors, but I would like to phase out some and add some new. I think rotating what I offer will help keep my sales up. I would appreciate any ideas that you guys might have for new flavors. Thanks in Advance! Amanda

Here are the flavors I make now (they are all sweet breads):
Cinnamon sugar
Chocolate-Choclate Chip
Blueberry
Apple Cinnamon
Oatmeal Raisin
Banana Walnut
Cinnamon Streusel (with Walnuts)
Pumpkin
Tropical Bread (Banana, Pineapple, Coconut)
Orange Cranberry
Lemon Poppy seed
Blackberry Crumble (has streusel but no walnuts)
Strawberry Cheesecake (has cream cheese topping)
Chocolate Cherry Bread with Chocolate Chips

I think a multi grain bread with flax, sunflower seeds, sesame, etc. would be very nice.

I also use cranberries in breads that I have made.

I was wondering, have you gone to
www.kingarthurflour.com ? They have tons of recipes you might find something of interest there.

I personally like almond poppy seed more than lemon poppy seed, but I'm an almond nut (no pun intended). HAHA.

There is one in the recipe section of this site called cranapana bread. It is cranberry, apple and banana. It is moist and delicious. I made a loaf for my cooking club and for work and everyone loved it and my coworkers wanted me to bake more.

I got a suggestion of pomegrante from a friend. Has anyone cooked with pomegrante before or eaten something baked with it?

It is not a sweet bread but a favorite in our house is red onion and pecan. As for sweet breads: pina colada, honey oat, pumpkin honey nut, caramel pecan using those caramel cookie chips, white choclate chip coconut.

How about some unusual mixes with herbs - like a lavender lemon?

Or a pistachio?

Or a key lime something?

I'm trying to think of light summery type flavors that would be unique.

Even a rosewater bread might be kind of fun to try.

The key lime is really good. I made the key lime bread and then mixed key lime juice with some sweetened cream cheese and made a ribbon down the center of the loaf with it. YUMMY!!! icon_biggrin.gif
