I think it would be cool to do a hair styling dummy. You know, using the technique like is used for the superman and spiderman bust cakes. You could then do curlers around the top of the head with maybe a fondant drape for the cape around the neck. Whatever you choose, I know it will be great!
You could make scissors, comb, hairdryer, etc., out of gumpaste to decorate the sides and top of cake. Let us see the finished product.
what about a stylists chair on a sheet cake,,, then using the play dough thing that makes hair, making fondant hair for the floor, and do some silly saying like here's to a good shape up or something ![]()
I think that I am going to do a sheet cake designed to look like a salon counter. I found a round tray that is reflective to attach for the mirror. I am then going to make a brush, scissors, etc, out of chocolate and fondant. My big questions, is what color should I do the counter??? I dont want it to just be white.. thanks!
okay, one more question. Im not sure what to charge. It is going to be a large sheet cake that serves at least 40. Im not sure of diminsions. I am going to have fondant scissors, comb, and appt. book. I am going to make a blowdryer and hairspray out of rice krisipes, and then cover in fondant. The cake itself wil be buttercream. The cake ingredients cost me around $15. Thanks!
11x15....$65 and up
12x18....$75 and up
This is what I get in my area because the bakeries here will not do custom cakes...to time consuming.
Also depends on how much detailing you will be adding. ![]()
The picture of the cake is in my photos, or this link, http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=coppermine&file=displayimage&meta=allby&uname=ashley87&cat=0&pos=1. It is not 100% done, the client had to add a mirror and hair spray. If they give me a pic I will upload it. Thanks for looking
