Help!!!! How To Get The Right Color

I am trying to get a dark grape color. It is coming out lavendar. On this website it says 1 sky blue and 6 pink rose. HELP PLEASE!! This is for a cake that is picked up tomorrow.

Be sure you give it some time to darken. Maybe red and royal blue?

I made it late last night and checked it this morning. Still lavendar. icon_sad.gif

Sorry pink & light blue won't make a dark color. Try starting with darker base colors. Make this batch lighter than you want it because it will darken.

what icing are you using? a couple of weeks ago i tried coloring IMBC a grape color and wouldnt change from lavander. used buttercream and i got the color i wanted. I used Wilton's violet.

Thank you so much. The first batch of 1 blue 6 pink looked really mauve to me. So I added another blue. Thats when it became lavendar.

i almost always end up adding a tiny bit of black at a time to darken my lavender to purple.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I am stuck at work 8-5 and I can't wait to go home to work on the cakes. I have an order to be done for Saturday. I am so excited about doing them. I suddenly feel ill and think I should go home!! icon_smile.gif
