Hi all,
What is the best source for buying cake pans? I have a very basic collection, 2 9", 2 8", 1 6" and I splurged on the Wilton sheet pan today which was on sale for $5.49. How many pans do you call keep and where do you get the best prices?
Thanks in advance,
Cindy

btw: AC Moore has 1/2 off select Wilton (the basic ones, rounds, squares, sheets, round sets) this week.

with ebay, you also need to check your seller out too, and make sure they have good feedback; also check what types of payment they will receive.

Good Luck!!

I get a lot of my pans from Hobby Lobby with the 40% off coupon. I just routinely go buy something from there whenever they run the coupon. Except for square pans. I prefer the Magic Line square and rectangle pans, and those I have to get from my cake supplier or online - at list price, unfortunately.

I have 2 6's, 2 8's and 2 10's in both round and square - so I can do both layers at a time. Anything larger or other shapes - I just have one of.

you can get the 40% coupon from hobby lobby by going to their web site and you can use one with every visit for that week. I have been there three times this week to buy pans! The 40% is usually every other week.

I get pans at A.C. Moore and Michaels when they have the coupons. A.C.Moore will email you a coupon once a week if you sign up for the online newsletter. I bring them to work and copy them and use them all the time.

Thanks for the responses. I got my pan today at AC Moore and I had a 40% off coupon which I used to buy a cake leveler.
I will definitely check out hobby lobby.

I have been using round pans in which the bottom lifts out - in looking for a link to give you, I just found out it are actually cheesecake pans (not a springform).

In essense they are heavy round cake pans, in which there is an approximately one to one and a half inch lip on the bottom and a bottom that sets on the lip. It makes it very easy to remove cakes from the side of the pan, then the bottom you just lift off the cake. I love them. Only once or twice has batter evey found its way out of the pan, and then only enough to sorty of coat the bottom under side (even then the bottom came out smooth, no chunks sticking to the bottom). I find I do not need to use any parchment with these pans, and they come in all sizes.

I have found them at a few small non-chain kitchen stores and at SurLaTabl. I was not able to succesfully transfer the picture, but have placed what I hope is the link to the page and the main web site.

I don't think anyone makes the hexagon pans 3 inches deep.
Wilton carries the 2 in deep pans
