I do believe this is already in the recipes section?

Also - try Michele Foster's delicious fondant - I just posted it this past week and it's great! (it's nice to have a few kinds to try and choose from too!) thumbs_up.gif

It sounds like it would be good and i plan to try it in the future. I did print it out and put it in my "must try" file. icon_smile.gif

Yes, Toba's recipe is already posted here at CC.

I love FondX, I think it tastes very similar to homemade MMF...without all the work! And its perfect every time!

I recently did a tasting where they wanted to see what fondant tasted like, and the bride actually liked it and said it tasted like marshmallows.

I don't know if it's me or what, but I can't find a fondant recipe by Toba Garrett on this site. So if someone who knows where to find it, could be so kind as to post a link for me, I would really be greatful. I'm always looking a fondant recipe that people will eat. I hate putting all that work into making fondant for a cake, and have everybody scrape it off. All I see is money, time and plenty of sweat going into the garbage!

I never heard of Toba Garrett's, I'm going to look for the receipe too. I've made MMF but have a hard time with it ripping and doesn't want to mold well for animals and figures. I have tried satin ice, tastes good but costs more.

Thanks a lot infields. I would have never found it by doing a search, it wasn't coming up with any of the obvious key words. I appreciate how helpful everyone is on this site. It's like a big cake decorating family! I'm finally home (here a CC).

Nice html. icon_wink.gif Isn't that the fondant that uses, if I'm not mistaken?

Thanks, Nick ... I was pretty proud of myself for that html. icon_lol.gif Yep, that's the fondant that Colette uses. I actually learned about this fondant when I took a class from Colette a couple years ago.

Yes, that's the one I buy. I know it's pricey, but I think it's well worth it. thumbs_up.gif

OMG!! When I originally posted this I thought I might get 3 or 4 people's opinions but you guys are awesome and a wealth of information! So, I am going to get and make the different types of fondant and have a taste test. Based on that, I will decide which one I will go with on my cakes! I can't wait to get started! Oh, I won't even dare try the Wilton stuff! Thanks everyone!

I made SophieBelle's Jello Fondant for my son's cake last week and it was a hit. The kids loved it. I have also used Toba Garrett's and it is great to work with.

I made a batch of mmf over the weekend and added 1/4 cup of butter and it tasted fantastic! And wasn't chewy either!

I love Toba Garrett's recipe for fondant, but I use almond extract instead of vanilla. It makes all the difference. Goes well with everything from Lemon to Chocolate cake. Good luck on the texture thing, I haven't found a good way to get around it, yet.

I recently used Rhondas Ultimate MMf from the recipes on this site with great results. It was the first time I made fondant that people actually ate!

That sounds like an awesome idea. Can you post back here with the results? I'd be extremely interested to find out your analysis on taste and texture.

Thanks,
Christine

OMG I just got done reading this post a little while ago so rushed to make Toba's recipe and it's now resting. wow, I actually LIKE the stuff. I could just sit and eat it. (hm. maybe that's not such a good thing icon_redface.gif )

Anyway, I can't wait to work with it and see how that goes. I'm going to attempt a school bus cake for my 2 year old in a couple days so I'll let you all know icon_wink.gif

I'm all excited about this fondant. I went in there and grabbed a chunk and ate it a bit ago icon_redface.gif

That is a beautiful cake that you made too...one that I'd already complimented and put in favorites!icon_biggrin.gif

Thank you! I know I loved the flavor of Toba's right away. I just love all of the flavor possibilities you could make with it too!! I know what you mean about the eating fondant or for that matter any buttercream I am working with. Lets just say I need to find a way to curb that "tasting" urge. I just went dress shopping for a wedding outfit and boy was my face red when I wasn't the size I thought I was!! LOL!

yes. I'm looking forward to trying it with other flavors as well. I also went ahead and added the color when I added the flavor. Definitely beats having to knead in the color later!

Oh, I hate the thoughts of what size I am right now. I'm still working on losing the extra after having 3 babies within 5 years. My littlest will be 2 tomorrow and I haven't lost very much since he was bornicon_sad.gif It's so hard when you're baking!
