Hi there my CC friends!!!
I know, I know... I've been away for a long time, actually I was here sometimes but didn't post. I've been working at the bakery for a month now, and lots of things happened during that time.....
Things are going slow for the bakery, you know when you're just starting, it's hard. So he had to ask me to do my apprenticeship without getting paid, but I get to bring all the bread and goodies I need. His wife even gives entire meals sometimes. I work more at my business though. People rather pay higher prices at the bakery than ordering right from me, go figure. The bakery buys my cakes at regular price and then sells them 30% more.
He also asked me if I wanted to be his partner instead of a regular employee. Meaning that when he retires, the business will be my own. Of course I said yes. So in the next two years, I have to find money to buy my share of the business, and when I take over, it's my business name that'll be on the store front. But for now we'll share some publicity fees, making sure everyone knows we're partners, that we work together, not as competitors...
And with all that business expending, we decided to buy a bigger house. We're now trying to sell our mobile house, some people are coming over tonight, and are serious about buying, and some others on Wednesday. We already made an offer on another house, right in our price range, and with 5 bedrooms, one will be for cake supplies only ![]()
Wish me luck!
The bakery is closed on Sundays and Mondays now. Those were the two days that costed more money than it was making.... So maybe I'll have more time to come and see my CC friends ![]()
Big hugs to all!!!!

Wow..you are some busy lady!!! Congrats on your endeavor!!!
Welcome Back Pootchi,
Glad to know that things are going very well for you hun. Yeah, bakeries are one of the hardest business to keep afloat because of the difference between the cost of making a good quality product and the actual selling price. The best thing is to get a loyal clientele base. They will tell two friends and then those friends will tell two friends..........etc lol!!
You know what I mean.
It usually takes a couple years for a bakery to actually show any profit. But then again, I don't think that we do what we do for the mere money factor. We do what we do because it's a passion.
So, hun, keep up the good work!! And above all, have fun!!! Not everyone gets to do what they love for a career!!!!!
Thanks everyone for your good words!!
My mobile house is almost sold! An elderly couple made an offer on it, we accepted, now I just need to wait for the bank to approve them (they were preapproved, so it's a matter of days) and sign the papers! WOOHOO!! We're going to the bank this afternoon to get preapproved for the big house!
YAY!!!!!! Pray that everything goes well for me!!!!
